Robert Groelle has been practicing in the area of insurance defense
since completing law school, following a trial practice internship with
the Palm Beach County State Attorney's Office. He joined a prominent
insurance defense firm and was invited to be a partner less than five
years after beginning practice. After twelve years with that firm, he
left to form his current firm, Groelle & Salmon P.A., with another
experienced litigator, David Salmon. Mr. Groelle's areas of practice and
experience encompass both first and third party litigation, including
bad faith, and evaluation of insurance coverage issues. Mr. Groelle has
extensive trial experience, almost exclusively from the defense
perspective, and has been retained as an expert witness on insurance
coverage. Mr. Groelle has been rated 'AV' by the Martindale Hubbell
professional rating organization, upon review by his peers. This is the
highest rating conferred on practicing attorneys by Martindale Hubbell.

Groelle has extensive continuing educational credits, through

organization instructional presentations.

Mr.
Groelle is licensed to practice in all state courts of Florida. He is
also a member of the General and Trial Bar of the United States District
Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, and is admitted
to practice before the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
He is
a member of the Tort and Insurance Practice Section of the American Bar
Association and the Palm Beach County Bar Association. He is also a
member of Florida Defense Lawyers Association and the Defense Research
Institute (DRI), including membership in the Insurance Law Committee,
Trucking Law Committee, and Professional Malpractice Committee of the
DRI.
Mr.
Groelle is a member of the insurance industry's Loss Executives
Association, the Florida Advisory Committee on Arson Prevention, and the
National Society of Professional Insurance Investigators. He is also a
member of the South Florida Claims Association, Palm Beach Claims
Association, and West Florida Claims Association. He is a past member of
the Florida Trial Lawyers Association.
Lectures, Seminars, and Publications
Mr. Groelle has delivered numerous educational presentations and
presented case law analysis, oral and published, to forums within the
insurance industry and other public arenas. He has presented continuing
education courses and instructional workshops for the Florida Advisory
Committee on Arson Prevention; at the annual Powers, McNalis, Moody &
Groelle insurance claims seminar; for the Broward Chapter of the CPA Law
Forum; the Fort Lauderdale Claims Association; at meetings of the South
Florida Claims Association; for the Association of Fire Marshals of Palm
Beach County; and at the Palm Beach Mariner's Club. He has also
presented numerous educational and training sessions for insurance
claims groups in various insurance companies, including Allstate
Insurance, Prudential Property and Casualty, American Bankers Insurance,
Florida Select Insurance Company and Tower Hill Insurance Group.
Mr.
Groelle has been published in the Florida Defense Lawyer Association's
Trial Advocate Quarterly (Collapse Claims, April 2001) and in the DRI's
For the Defense [Coverage Exclusions in the 'All Risk' Homeowners
Policy, April, 1999]. He served as the editor of his former firm's
newsletter Briefly Speaking for over five years, and was a regular
contributing author to that publication.
Community Activities
Mr. Groelle regularly volunteers his time and resources to local
youth recreational and charitable programs. He is active as a youth
soccer coach and serves in leadership positions with the Boy Scouts. He
was a Junior Achievement business consultant for many years, teaching
weekly classes in the eighth grade and senior high school levels of the
Palm Beach School District. He is active in his church community and in
local school programs, and recently served as co-chairman of the School
Advisory Committee for his neighborhood elementary school.
